Club History

Picture
Huntingdon Town Ladies Football Club was founded in 1992 joining the Eastern Region Women's Football League. We won promotion to the first division in 1996 and in May 2000 we won the League Plate final - a well-deserved 3-1 victory over Kings Lynn.
In 2001 we moved to Huntingdon Town FC, enabling us to be part of the new purpose
built facilities on the edge of town, Jubilee Park.
2002/03 was a particularly successful season for us. We gained promotion to the Premier Division
by finishing the league in 3rd place (just beaten by goal difference) on our highest ever points total
and we remained unbeaten for 12 games from Christmas until the end of the season, with 11 wins
and 1 draw (we were the only side to take points off runaway Division One winners Northampton).
The season was topped off with a 1-0 victory over Cottenham in the League Plate Final.
During 2004/2005 Hunts Town had a run of bad luck and a run of losses meant the team was unable to maintain a position out of the relegation zone.  We have remained in the Northern Division since that time, and fought through some tough relegation battles over the years. The one thing that has never left us is our team spirit and in May 2009 this dedication paid off with a brilliant 1-0 Memorial Shield win over rivals Ipswich.
The 2009-10 season was our best for many years, with a fantastic squad and manager we have been able to grind out some good results and finally finish well above the bottom of the table.

Here at Huntingdon Town LFC we recognise how important it is to have the correct policies and procedures in place to ensure the safety and well being of all our members. We have an appointed Club Welfare Officer whose job it is to make sure we follow these guidelines closely.

We are proud to announce that we have retained FA Charter Standard Status this season. The Charter Standard Scheme is a best practice guide that sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection for all clubs outside the Football League and Premier League. As a benchmark for quality, it will improve the playing experience for all. To find out more about the FA Charter Standard Scheme Click Here
